Dangerous Intersection Angers North Caddo Residents

Watching a car plow through your home is something few can imagine. However, that has happened twice in one Vivian neighborhood. Now, those residents are turning to the KTAL Troubleshooters for help with a problem they believe will turn deadly. "Somebody came from the road, went over the top of this fence and hit the house," Eddie Washington said. Washington and his neighbors along Pardue St. in Vivian have had more than their fair share of close calls. They say reckless drivers traveling along Highway 2 in Vivian are to blame for a number of accidents. Lady Coley says a driver plowed through her fence and into her living room. No one was hurt in any of those accidents. Yet, these families fear they might not always be so lucky. We contacted the Louisiana Department of Transportation to get something done. Keith Tindell says the agency monitors more than 2,000 miles of roadway and says it`s hard to catch every hazard. Once Washington files a written complaint, the Department of Transportation will look at this intersection more closely and launch a study to determine a solution. If you are dealing with a similar problem with a Louisiana highway, contact the Louisiana Department of Transportation at P.O. Box 38, Shreveport LA. 71161 or (318) 549-8300.
