Perry, White To Face Off For Texas Governor In November

(Austin, TX) -- Incumbent Rick Perry will face Democratic nominee Bill White in the bid for Texas governor in November. Perry received more than 50-percent of the votes in the Republican primary, with U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison conceding earlier in the night. White received more than 75-percent of the Democratic votes. The former Houston Mayor was up against six others in the bid for the Democratic spot, with businessman Farouk Shami falling behind with about 12-percent of the votes with nearly 50-percent of precincts reporting.
