A press conference will be held 3 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room located in the Thomas Assembly Center on the Tech campus followed by a reception in the Waggonner Room. Both of these events will be open to the public.
Dooley, who played football at Virginia and earned a law degree at Georgia, has worked the past seven years for Nick Saban, including five at LSU and the past two for the Dolphins.
During his stint at LSU, Dooley served as the Tigers running backs and was the special team`s coordinator in 2003 during the Tigers national championship season. He also spent three seasons as the Tigers recruiting coordinator.
Dooley, who will be the 31st head coach in Louisiana Tech football history, is the son of former Georgia head football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley.
Dooley is in Buffalo today with the Dolphins for their noon CST game against the Bills.
