Updated: February 5, 2007
Shortly before noon Saturday, a hunter was heading to his deer lease when investigators say he discovered what appeared to be the body of an adult, white male. The crime scene sits one mile off highway 80 along Elysian Fields Road. There were gunshot wounds to the upper body, but the exact cause of death has not been determined. Police are investigating it as a homicide. "We can definitely tell its foul play involved. It`s not a found body of natural causes. It is foul play involved. So we`re going to have to take our time and not get rushed and process the scene," said Sheriff Steve Prator Investigators believe the body was dumped at the scene less than 24 hours before the hunter found it. Police have identified the victim and his next of kin has been notified. But officers are not releasing the victim`s name at this time
