Evacuation in Carthage, Texas

The Panola County Sheriff evacuated close to 100 people after a natural gas pocket was hit by a drilling crew from XTO Energy . The evacuation stretches about a half mile radius around the accident which occured on the Dixie Lake Road in Carthage. Residents who have been evacuated are being re-located in area hotels. XTO has engineers on the scene at this time looking into the situation. XTO plans to issue a official statement later.
