Brandon Dunn - Sports Director

Brandon Dunn has been the Sports Director of NBC 6 since October 2007.   He came to the ArkLaTex from KTEN in Dennison, TX, where he worked as Sports Director for over six years.

Brandon's career in broadcast journalism began in the windy potato fields of Twin Falls, Idaho in 1998.   From there Brandon travelled to the greener pastures of Eureka, CA,  where he ran the sports department of KAEF before returning to his home state of Texas.   From there, it was a short hop to the ArkLaTex, which Brandon now proudly calls home.

Brandon's highlight reel looks like a history of ArkLaTex sports.  He covered LSU's football national championship in 2007 and the Saints' Super Bowl win in 2010.  He also covered the 2011 Cotton Bowl, the 2009 Chick-fil-a Bowl, the SEC Basketball tournament in 2008, as well as the NBA Finals in 2006.  He's also had the opportunity to cover Cowboys Training Camp in San Antonio.  Closer to home, Brandon was there for the Shreveport Captains' championship in 2010 and the Mudbugs CHL title in 2011, along with dozens of high school state championships  in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, California, and Idaho.

Brandon and his sport-loving wife are the proud parents of three children, and love calling Shreveport/Bossier home.  If you have a sports story idea for Brandon, e-mail him at bdunn@ktalnews.tv.  You can also follow Brandon on Twitter:  Twitter@BrandonDunnNBC6

I'm not sure if you can help, but my gut says yes!Woodlawn High School is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.We are having our Homecoming game Oct2 @3pm Lee Hedges Stadium, and our Gala, 7pm at Sams Town Casino. We are trying to get some media exposure to attract some of our alumni, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Ferguson, and Robert Parish, just to name the big boys,to get some much needed attention to the school.I'm hoping if one of your reporters could do a piece on it, the school tradition, the highs the lows. The only thing suffering is the athletic programs, they get zero funding.Mr. LeeO Savage,of Savage rental,a Woodlawn graduate delivered a riding lawn mower to the school so they could mow their football field. We created a facebook page, (woodlawn fiftyyearanniversary. We would love for you to join our FB page and just see the passion in the Woodlawn Alumni.I would love to talk to you so you can hear about the positive things going on at Woodlawn, I am Mavice Thigpen 318-934-4711
