Captain Shreve Student Council is hosting the Louisiana Association of Student Councils Convention January 16-18 at Captain Shreve.  The opening session of the convention is at 7:30 Saturday night in the gym.  The theme is Soaring to New Heights.  The technology is done by a company from Los Angeles, and the keynoter is Dr. David Parker.

Also, during this opening session, each of the 100 schools in attendance will present a back pack filled with food for the NW LA Food Bank Back-Pack Program.

Schools from all over the state, and many from Shreveport, will be in attendance. . .over 1200 delegates who will learn and share leadership skills and ideas.  Community leaders are presenting adult-led seminars on Sunday afternoon.

The key noter on Sunday morning at the 8:30 session is Scott Greenberg from California, a young man who has overcome cancer that occurred during his teenage years.

On Sunday afternoon at the 3:45 session, the association will present a large check to Shriners' Hospital, money collected by all of the schools in attendance.  The amount is secret until that time.

The Sunday evening activity will be at Sci Port for dinner and dance.

We would like to invite you and any of you to come see what wonderful things are happening in our community.
