Families say goodbye to soldiers

A crowd applauded Louisiana national guardsmen heading to Iraq to fight for our country. The city of Shreveport held a "deployment ceremony" this afternoon at the municipal auditorium. Nbc 6 reporter Karen Hopkins spoke with families who are sending their loved off to war. With goodbye comes the kisses, the shoulders to lean on and the teary eyes. “I dont know what will happen. I dont know if he will come back. He has a new baby. “Her son Aaron Chrisman is one of about 3,000 Louisiana national guardsmen deploying to Iraq for nearly a year. Chrisman says hell miss his 3-month old daughter. Christine Campbell gets emotional. Her husbands leaving for the second time. But this years different. They have 8-month old twins. Jacob brown looks up to dad for serving our country. “I take a lot of pride in serving our country.” The soldiers will say their "final goodbyes" in the morning.
