Tate Martin is a senior at Calvary Baptist Academy. He's a member of the football team, the National Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"It's made me become more of a leader that I need to be as I get to college," said Martin.

Martin is well on his way. He currently has a 3.95 grade point average and is fourth in his class. However counselors say with several months of school left that could quickly change for the better. Martin also gives back to the community. A Christmas fundraiser brought cheer to local families.

"We would buy them clothes, toys, whatever the kids really needed," said Martin. "We're blessed to have what we have. So, it's good every once in a while to help out."

Martin has advice for future leaders.

"Make sure that you focus on school because it's important. But, most importantly you gotta keep God number one."
