A Shreveport senior's peers are looking up to him. His leadership skills in and out of the classroom are setting a big example.

"I'm in charge of all the discipline of all the cadets" says William Eades III.  He says through JROTC at C.E. Byrd High School he has learned many lessons. "It's taught me alot about leadership and being able to talk in front of people and being able to lead big groups of people, not just small groups, big groups" he says.

The Command Sgt. Major gets out of the classroom, traveling around the country to compete in rifle matches against other ROTC groups and 4H clubs. He recently won the national championship. Practicing is something he looks forward to every day.

"I get to be hands on with everyone, get to teach them, they come in and don't know anything, and you can teach them alot."

After college Eades wants to go into federal law enforcement.
