Red River Tea Party Gives Back

By: Jenna Zibton
Updated: November 14, 2009

The Red River Tea Party is still spreading their message.

"People are concerned about this new administration and the direction of our country, away from what many people consider our constitutional values, what our U.S. Constitution calls for" says spokesman Royal Alexander.

But while they continue speaking out, they also volunteer and support our troops.

"It's very exciting to me now to see the american public has finally figured out that the american fighting men and women do not have the luxery of choosing what's going to be a good war or a bad war, or a popular war or an unpopular war" says Vietnam Veteran Chester T. Kelley.

During today's rally Shirley Olivieri-Mathies collected money, food and other items to send overseas.
"It's just wonderful. It always just warms my heart to see people that are willing to donate items or to give us monetary donations. I'm an army mom. My son and daughter and law are both deployed and it means the world to our troops to know that americans support them" she says.

"People in their hearts are looking for a way to be involved and to give back. I think many, many people are very appreciative for the freedoms we have as americans" says Alexander.

The Red River Tea Party also donates to local food banks and called for volunteers during the recent flooding.
