A group of local soldiers is working to remember their fallen comrades.
"The community has been behind us on this, we waited a year. We feel it is time now to start putting together a monument benefiting the soldiers in this unit that served and made the ultimate sacrifice," said Lt. Col. Scott Adams. The 2-108th Cavalry Squadron, formally known as the 1-156th out of Shreveport`s Fort Humbug is working to design a monument to honor guardsmen who died while serving in Iraq. They are trying to raise 10,000 dollars. The monument will sit in Shreveport`s Veterans Park when it is finished. If you are interested in donating call 676-7613.
