A combination of high winds and a hard-working farmer are being blamed for a dust storm that wreaked havoc on a central California highway on Tuesday.
A farmer was trying to level a field when the winds picked up, creating a dust storm with zero visibility.
The dust storm was blamed for several traffic accidents, including a major pile-up several miles outside of the town of Firebaugh.
The California Highway Patrol blocked the road for about a mile after a tractor trailer rear ended a BMW and collided with a big-rig head on.
Drivers headed to Firebaugh were cautioned and detoured around the storm
