breaking news
Bossier City police kept busy Wednesday pursuing and catching burglary suspects who were caught in the act during two separate incidents. Late that evening officers were called to the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel parking garage when two men were seen on a security camera breaking into a car and taking power tools. The suspects ran away upon being confronted by security personnel.
Responding officers, including members of the bicycle unit, converged on the area and caught one of the suspects, later identified as 22-year-old Herman Molina of Austin, Texas, on the railroad tracks north of the parking garage. While an officer was transporting Molina to the Bossier City Jail, he noticed the second suspect walking along East Texas Street near Benton Road. The officer recognized the man based on still images taken by the security camera at the parking garage. That suspect, 41-year-old Daniel E. Castro of Austin, Texas and Molina were booked into the Bossier City Jail on charges of simple burglary. Molina was also booked on a charge of misrepresentation during booking after he initially provided officers with a false name.
In the second incident officers responded earlier that day to the 2200 block of Northside Drive after a man found a burglary inside his home. The man chased the suspects away and saw him run into a nearby convenient store as officers arrived on the scene. The officers entered the store and found the suspect, 23-year-old Martrez D. Hanson, hiding in the store`s restroom. Hanson was arrested and booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
