Prescott Mayor Howard Taylor stands accused of using city fuel for personal use. Taylor admits filling his personal vehicles with city gas, but says he drove the vehicles only on city business. Taylor agreed earlier this week to repay the city more than $2,400 in restitution. Critics are calling for an audit, something the mayor says is not needed. Nevada County prosecutor Ashley Parker confirmed there is an investigation underway, but refused to comment further. Prescott resident Kelia Murphy says she doesn't believe the mayor used the gas only for city business. Murphy wants to see the mayor investigated and possibly face charges. Mayor Taylor calls it a personal vendetta. Meanwhile, a new lock controls access to city gas pumps and a log is kept each time the pump is used.
