Early Morning House Fire Injures Woman

A female was injured in an early morning fire on Flora St. The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the fire at 8:51 am. The home had smoke and flames coming from a bedroom window. The woman who sustained second degree burns was a mobility impaired 62 year old. Two family members rescued her from the room before the fire department arrived. The fire originated from where a small space heater was plugged into the electrical outlet. The blaze was under control by 9 am.
