(Washington, DC) -- The H1N1 flu virus has dealt a deadly blow to young children in the U.S.
The Centers for Disease Control reports 86 children under the age of 18 have died from the virus.
The total of 86 includes 43 children who have died in the past month and 11 this past week.
Most of the childrens deaths have been recorded in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Carolina.
Louisiana and Tennessee saw two child deaths from the influenza virus, which is now widespread in 41 states.
