With the holidays only a couple of months away many people may be looking for seasonal jobs but there are some you may not think of that are plentiful this month.
"This has been something I've been working on for about twelve years now" Brad Bowen says. The co-owner of Ultimate Fear Haunted House moved the event from Longview, Texas to Shreveport after ruling out bigger cities like Dallas and Houston.
"With the colleges and the air force base here, we just felt like this was a prime market for us for a fresh start." Bringing with him fourty new jobs and the opportunity to employ the unemployed. "This is their way of getting out of the house and getting their mind off of things and it's a still a decent job for them." Others like Brett Rountree just want a second job. The lead actor is already in the military. "I like building things with my hands. I like being a part of something. I just like scaring people." People are not shying away because of the economy. Hundreds have paid the $15 admission charge to walk through the halls and the foot traffic is expected to pick up, as Halloween gets closer.
"If you think you aren't scared of anything, you should definitely come out here. If you just like being scared you should come out here of course" says Rountree.
The Ultimate Fear Haunted House is on Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport. For more information visit them online at www.ultimatefear.net
Bowen says if you want to work in a haunted house listen for radio announcments and check out local websites for casting calls.
