Residents In North Shreveport Get Flood Protection

Residents who live in the Lakeside neighborhood off Hearne Ave. have had flooding problems in the area for years. Water has even gotten inside their homes. At the time State Representative Roy Burrell was the city councilman for district G. Residents came to him with their concerns. Burrell promised them he would take care of it. He was able to get 2.7 million dollars to create a ditch system in the neighborhood. Some resident don`t think it will work. But Burrell assures them once the city project is complete the flooding will no longer happen.
