At 5 feet 11 inches tall, she doesn't look the part, but Arianne Prevost, 23, is a monster killer.

She recently bagged a giant alligator with a crossbow.

It's gator season, and most hunters are bagging alligators that are about eight feet long.

They are out there, and Prevost got one even bigger on her first hunt.

"It's just a rush," Prevost said. "I love it."

Prevost was previously from Mississippi, and she loves to hunt.

Prevost was on her first alligator hunt with Robert Rohmann of Native Sons Outfitters.

She had done some target archery before, but she had never fired a crossbow.

"It was a really good shot. I was impressed. The boat was moving, and the alligator was moving, obviously," Rohmann said.

"I love anything outdoors. I love to go fishing," Prevost said.

Prevost kept the alligator's giant head, and plans to have it stuffed.

The meat and hide were already processed.

Prevost doesn't look the part of a monster killer, but this alligator season, she has another tag, which means she has legal permission to bag another gator.

Prevost's alligator was about 11 feet and weighed about 500 pounds.

The record for alligator hunting stands at just over 14 feet.
