After the early votes and absentee ballots were counted again Thursday afternoon at the Registrar of Voters Office in Shreveport, the results stayed unchanged.
Incumbent Monty Walford beat out Sheva Sims.
Both candidates and their attorneys were present while the ballots were counted to make sure the process was done correctly.
Walford will begin his new term on November 28th with the city`s other elected officials.
Sims requested a recount in Bossier Parish which will take place on Monday.
