(Washington, DC) More than $120-thousand is heading to Arkansas to help train health professionals. The money is part of $33-million in federal funding announced today by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
The funds are part of the $500 million allotted to HHS Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to address workforce shortages under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
The grants will be used to fund health professions schools and training programs, and pay tuition, fees, and stipends for students.
