Family Members Outraged After 2nd House Fire

Firefighters worked into the night looking for the cause of a fire in Shreveport's Mooretown neighborhood. The major house fire happened just before ten on Thursday night on the corner of Kennedy Drive and Ester Street.

The fire started in the carport according to a Shreveport Fire Department spokesman. They collected evidence samples looking for an accelerant used in the fire and consider it suspicious in nature because the utilities were turned off and the house was unoccupied.

The house and a suburban parked under the carport are a total loss.

Authorities say Kunta Kente Green lived there. Green is facing a second degree murder charge for the shooting death of Deolandis "D.J." Johnson. Johnson was gunned down in July in the parking lot of the "C and C" liquor store.

This is the second fire at the home in less than two months. Family members are outraged and say Johnson's family and friends are retaliating.
