Updated: February 5, 2007
Jones daughter, Sarah,16, was hospitalized to undergo tests to determine the cause of her illness. She has been bleeding internally, in her lower colon. Her father says she has improved since she entered the hospital, that her color is good and she is in good spirits. She may be released from the hospital as early as tomorrow, but Jones has said he would not make any more appearances until doctors could give him more information. His opponent, Cedric Glover, closed his campaign office Wednesday out of respect for Jones, but the office reopened Thursday for business as usual. Jones` campaign manager emphasized that the campaign is still on and that the candidate has not dropped out of the race. Jones decision to cancel his appearances caused Thursday`s scheduled televised debate to be cancelled as well.
