At approximately 2:15 am, October 31, 2006, Longview
Police Officer Amber Matthews stopped a vehicle in the 600
block of Level Street for a traffic violation.
Officer Matthews had observed the violation near the
intersection of Mobberly and Highland Streets; however,
when she attempted to stop the vehicle it fled, finally
stopping on Level Street.
The driver, identified as Cameron Antwon Sims 28 of
Longview was taken into custody and while conducting an
inventory of the vehicle prior to having it towed from the
scene, officers found a small quantity of suspected
marijuana as well as approximately 32 grams of suspected
crack cocaine individually packaged for sale.
Sims was taken to the Gregg County jail and charged with
Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer,
Possession of Marijuana, and Manufacture/Delivery of a
Controlled Substance.
