This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, the three day festival celebrating peace, love, and music that became a defining moment of a generation.
The three day music and arts festival was expected to draw 50,000, but the crowd swelled into a sea of half a million.
Greg Walter, 18-years-old at the time and registered for the draft, came from to protest the war and share the love of music.
That empowered me," he says. "I realized the the movement was far bigger than I ever could have imagined it would be."
"A lot of people now, who are in their 50 or 60s or whatever, vividly remember those days, and so, it was just a pivotal moment in American popular culture," notes Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chief curator Jim Henke.
