Shreveporter Executed for 1990 Florida Murders

Serial killer, and Shreveport native, Danny Rolling has been executed by the state of Florida.
Rolling savagely attacked and murdered five Gainesville college students in 1990.
At least one of his victims was decapitated.
He confessed to the crimes when he went to trial in 1994.
Florida Corrections Department spokesman Robbie Cunningham said Rolling met with his brother and his spiritual advisor before his death.
His last meal included lobster tail, shrimp and strawberry cheesecake.
Rolling was also considered a suspect in a triple murder in Shreveport, but officials decided not to bring charges for fear of slowing down proceedings in Florida.
