Man Arrested In Connection To Texarkana Murder

On Monday, October 23rd, Texarkana, Texas Police responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of Findley Street. Once on scene, officers discovered the victim, 25 year old black male Phillip Jerome Stanley, of Texarkana, Texas, lying in the front yard. The victim appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, 36 year old black male, Doshee Swan Towery, also of Texarkana, Texas, left the scene and was later involved in a three vehicle collision at the intersection of Kings Highway and Highway 59. The Bowie County Sheriffs Office responded to the accident as Texarkana, Texas Police were simultaneously working the Findley Street crime scene. Deputies arrested Towery at the scene and transported him to the Bi-State Justice Center Jail. He was charged with murder and a bond of $1,000,000 was set. A pistol was located at the scene. The investigation will determine whether or not it is the pistol used in the murder. The investigation is ongoing.
