Lights Out!

By: Jessica James
Updated: September 7, 2007
When you drive over the Texas Street Bridge at night, youve probably noticed that it doesnt shine as bright as it used to. Thats because, according to the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, a quarter of the neon lights are out. Ever since it was built, the City of Shreveport has had a contract with the lighting company, Super-Neon. Under the contract, repairs are done four times a year. Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover requested an inspection of the neon lights on Monday. He is waiting on the results before signing a new contract. The Shreveport Regional Arts Council says new repairs should be done this month.
