3 Airline High Students Killed in Crash

A trip to a Friday night football game ends in tragedy for three Airline High students. Five girls were on their way to Natchitoches Central High, shortly after 5 PM, when their SUV left the roadway and flipped over several times. The crash happened on Intersatate 49, just south of the State Highway 177 exit. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. Two were airlifted to LSU Medical Center and the other two were taken by ambulance. Emily Perdue, 16, Katy Watkins, 16, and Molly Reed, 15, all died as a result of injuries from the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
