Firefighters in Texarkana, AR are used to the heat from blazes. Now matters are compounded with temperatures in the upper 90s. Fire chief Bobby Honea says a firefighter can become dangerously hot very fast. Just like the gear firefighters wear to protect against flames, they also carry water coolers to protect against the sun. Fire engines are equipped with special misting devices to keep firefighters cool during the extreme heat. Honea urges his workers and the general public to drink plenty of water and stay indoors as much as possible.
