Demand for Ammunication Affecting Local Agencies

The Bossier Parish sheriffs department is making sure they order their ammunition well before they run out. That means its more important than ever to keep a close eye on their supply so they can keep doing their job keeping "you" safe. Since fire power could be called the most important tool of the trade for law enforcement officers. But with the demand for ammunition growing in war torn countries. Back here at home its getting harder and more expensive to get ammo shipments on time. Its costing more to keep the shelves at the Bossier Parish sheriffs shooting range stocked. And shipments are arriving about four months behind schedule. Baswell says the demand for ammunition is causing some law enforcement agencies across the country to cut back on training. But the Bossier Parish sheriffs department has not had to resort to that.
