Caddo Thief Goes Beyond the Cliche

Mary Helen Edwards of Tacoma Street was arrested Wednesday night after turning herself in to Caddo Parish authorities.
Edwards is charged with felony theft.
She moved into a rental house at 7394 North Lakeshore Drive in 2004 and lived in the home, without paying rent, for about 15 months.
Edwards made several renovations, including removing old household items and replacing them with new property.
At the end of last year, and without notice, Edwards moved out in the middle of the night, taking all of the flooring, kitchen countertops, appliances, even the kitchen sink.
She was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
