breaking news
It`s fire prevention week, but for the last 2 days, Shreveport-Bossier firefighters have been called out to battle a few blazes. The latest happened Monday morning.
About a dozen shreveport crews were called out at 6 a.m. to a duplex fire in the 6100 block of Willard Street. It took firefighters 30 minutes to get the blaze under control.
No one injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Meantime, 50-year-old Leonard Boudreaux of Bossier City is recovering after sustaining 2nd degree burns to his lower legs after his house caught fire Sunday.
It happened in the 3200 block of Jana place. Authorities say the fire was accidental. They haven`t determined the ignition source, but officials say the fire started as Boudreaux was spraying gasoline around the exterior of his home in an effort to kill rats and poison ivy.
