BCFD Takes Fire Safety Message To Thousands Of School Children

The Bossier City Fire Department kicked off its annual fire safety program for Bossier school children on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Kerr Elementary School. Personell with the BCFD`s Fire Prevention Bureau put on a multimedia fire safety program featuring a puppet show with a brand new firehouse puppet theater, a videotape presentation produced by students and staff at Bossier Parish Community College and appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddie the Fire Plug. During the month of October, fire prevention officers will bring the program to approximately two-dozen Bossier City schools and day care facilities to teach fire safety to more than 7500 children.
