Sandy Lloyd buys almost all of her kid’s clothing on eBay. This stay-at-home mom knows a thing or two about pinching pennies.

"I started to make a profit off of my children's used clothes," explained Lloyd. "I've sold old, black mary janes that had creases in them and scuffs on them. I might have only paid five or six dollars for them on clearance and turned around and sold them for $10.00 or $15.00."

Some of the best on-line bargain finds; high-end children's clothing, brands found in boutique's for a pretty penny.

"The little smocked dresses in boutiques will run you anywhere $40.00 a piece to over $100 a piece. If you check on eBay you'll find a lot of sellers start their bids at about $9.99 for a boutique dress,” added Lloyd.

She knows how to buy the fancy frocks at a fraction of the cost.

"You sniff out the bargains and you learn that not many people are shopping on eBay at six in the morning."

Lloyd says reselling the bargain finds on eBay helps balance the family budget.

"I will pull it out and say, 'you haven't worn this is three months, let's sell it, it'll pay the light bill.’ " And in her case it often pays much more. She makes anywhere from $200 to more than $1000 dollars a month on these high-tech hand-me-downs.
