By: Shelli Briery

bIf Congress sees fit, funding could be headed to Southwest Arkansas to help complete I-49. $350,000 has been secured for a five mile stretch to expand Highway 549 to the Louisiana line in a House transportation bill. Now the Senate must pass a similar bill. The funding is only a small part of the $60 million needed to finish the roadway in the state.
