Updated: January 7, 2009
The upcoming primary is in the "early voting" stage. A 6 day phase in which votes can be cast in parish registrar offices across the state. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, voters can hit the polls early. As of 4:30 Monday, 264 people cast votes in Caddo Parish. There`s a lot at stake in this election. Voters throughout the state will decide on 13 constitutional amendments. Some will also choose a new mayor and city council representatives. A new law allows voters to cast ballots in person ahead of time, even if they`re planning to be in town on election day. Voters say the new option is a matter of convenience. Early voting continues through Saturday. The Primary Election is September 30th.
