Culver Street Homicide Suspect Arrested

Longview Detectives have been working tirelessly since 25-year-old Alfonzo Hall was found murdered in his home in the 200 block of East Culver Street on August 3, 2006. Detectives were able to develop information that led them to obtain a warrant for 20-year-old Josef Tyree Merced of Longview and that warrant was served Thursday. Merced was booked into the Gregg County Jail on the murder warrant signed by County Court at Law Judge Alphonzo Charles as well as an outstanding warrant for Family Violence Assault. The case remains under investigation.
