Sex Offender Appears In Court After Being Charged With Manslaughter

A convicted sex offender out on parol appeared in court Thursday facing new charges after a deadly accident. 27-year-old Critt Stewart Junior pleaded not guilty to manslaughter in a Sevier County courtroom. Stewart was charged in the death of 6-month-old Keyonie Williams. Police say Stewart was the driver of a car that rolled twice during a high-speed chase. The infant and her mother, who also died, were passengers inside. Stewart faces 3 to 10 years in prison if convicted. The trial is slated for November 29, 2006.
