
First Judicial District Judge Cornelius John Bolin, Jr. passed away Monday, July 2 at 8:06 p.m. He had been battling Alzheimer's Disease while living in the Live Oak Nursing Home. Bolin, known to his friends as "C.J.", will be remembered for his work that helped shape Ark-La-Tex law. Bolin graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1941 then furthered his education at Louisiana State University. He graduated from the university in 1951 to practice law. After six years in a lawyer capacity, Bolin served as Assistant District Attorney of Caddo Parish for 11 years. Judge Bolin has a three and a half year war record. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two. He grew up in Mansfield, Louisiana the son of C.J. Bolin, Senior and Annie Walker Bolin. Judge Bolin married Madeline M. Bolin and fathered six children: Madeline Ann, John, Adele, Louis Robert, Louise Jeanise and Martin. Judge C.J. Bolin, Jr. was 82 years old. ¶JUDGE BOLIN HAS A THREE AND A HALF YEAR WAR RECORD. HE SERVED IN THE U-S NAVY DURING WORLD WAR TWO. JUDGE C-J BOLIN JUNIOR WAS 82 YEARS OLD.
