Updated: January 7, 2009
A Shreveport Restaurant is closed after an early morning fire Monday. Firefighters have determined it`s the work of arsonists. Officials say flames were coming out of the front of Athenian Delights on Line Avenue when they arrive just before 2:00 a.m. It took more than 20 firefighters an hour to get the blaze under control. Authorities say someone entered the business and used a petroleum based substance to ignite the fire in 5 different places. No injuries were reported, but officials say the business is a total loss with approximately 100,000 dollars in damages. Chianti, another restaurant in the same building sustained some smoke damage, but a fire wall kept the blaze from spreading.
