Saturday night, around 10:30, a fight between two LSUS students turned deadly. It happened at a house at the intersection of Janther Place and Mall St Vincent Way. Police responded to a call about a fight between a man and a woman. Police say when they entered the house they saw a blood trail leading to a bedroom. There, they discovered the body of Taylor Jones, a senior accounting student at LSUS. Police believe he died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police believe he shot himself after beating his girlfriend with a baton. A spokesperson from LSUS says Jones was on the Chancellor's list and was a well-known and well-liked student. Jones was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
