Two Ark-La-Tex boys are lucky to be alive after they are nearly carried away by rushing waters. It happened near the bridge on Gilbert and Ockley in Shreveport. Two boys, 8 and 10 were looking for their scooter when they fell into the water. A witness heard the boys screaming and called 9-1-1. Crews responded in minutes. "The boys got taken away by the current and they were up under a ledge on the viaduct here and the firemen were able to get down there with a rope and get them up to safety," said Fire Chief Randy Hodge. The boys emerged from the water cold and wet but were otherwise unharmed.
