Two new candidates have announced they will be running in the local elections. Shreveport attorney, Sheva Sims, has practiced law for thirteen years and she is now running for Louisiana State Senate, District 37. Sims says she's been an activist in the city of Shreveport and she wants to take that energy to Baton Rouge. Wanda Bennett has been a long-time civic leader in Bossier Parish and is now running for Bossier Police Jury, District 3. Bennett served as a Bossier City Council Member, from 1977 to 1989, and was, also, Implementing Administrator for Bossier Parish 911.
