Presidential Candidate talks to KTAL

Governor Bill Richardson comes to Shreveport this week campaigning and raising funds for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Gov. Richardson says our area is important to winning the White House, he says the election isn't about the early primary states, candidate Richardson says all of America counts.
Richardson a former Energy Secretary under President Clinton says he wants to reduce gas prices. Richardson believes our country should depend less on oil over-sea's and more on resources in our own backyard. The Governor says he also wants to re-organize FEMA and put the agency directly under the President. Richardson tells KTAL what happen to the gulf two-years ago in the aftermath of the storms would be different under his administration. Richardson says as President he would take a full-time active role in rebuilding what mother nature took away. As for Richardson's plans if he doesn't grab the nomination for the White House, he say's he'll return full-time as Governor of New Mexico. But when asked if he would consider a VP title on the Democratic ticket in 2008, Richardson says it's not in his plans.
