More that 50 detectives from across Louisiana met in Bossier Parish for a lesson on bones.
Anthropologist Mary Manhein, the director of the LSU FACES Lab taught detectives about the link to the missing and unidentified.
They learned how to exhume skeletal remains and how to identify victims with fragments and clues surrounding burial sites.
Through marking, digging and sifting, they found the story waiting to be told.
"We learned how to work an outdoor scene, in regards to a possible buried body; It is real interesting,"said Sergeant Gary Ward, Caddo C.S.I.
The forensic class was hosted by the Bossier Sheriff`s Office.
