breaking news
Ray Woodkins Jr. has been missing for almost a week. The 81-year-old was last seen Thursday. Family members say a neighbor last spotted Woodkins and his youngest daughter leaving his home to go cash a check. Then they say he went to a local grocery store to pay his light bill. But Woodkins never returned home.
The next day Harvey Woodkins spotted his father`s abandoned truck in the Kroger parking lot, next to a dumpster.
"His wallet was right here and the bill for his water bill was laying on the seat," said Woodkins.
The wallet contained Woodkins ID and a few receipts, but the money was gone. Family members say they spoke with the grocery store manager and he told them the truck had been parked there since at least 1pm Friday. Relatives say it just doesn`t add up.
"He would never go anywhere without his truck," said daughter-in-law Brenda Woodkins.
She suspects foul play.
"In order for him to get in the car and leave with someone, he had to have known them. Or they had to have had him at gunpoint."
Relatives are fearing the worst.
"I really don`t want the say that he`s dead. But it`s been so long that`s the only thing that`s coming to mind right now," said Brenda Woodkins.
Now the family is making a public plea for help.
"If you know where my dad is, or if you have any information, please call us. You don`t even have to leave your name. I just want to know where my father is." said daughter Ola Woodkins-George.
