The familiar old mechanical machines are being replaced by touchscreen technology.
The Bossier Parish Clerk of Court says the there were always problems with the old machines.
"They would print strike overs. You wouldn`t be able to read the numbers."
Commissioners also had to physically remove the results from the old voting machines after the election was over.
The process was never easy; sometimes tallying results took close to two hours. Even though the new computer touchscreens might look intimidating to some voters, those who`ve used them before say they`re easy to figure out.
