One man is dead and another is in custody after a domestic dispute turns violent, in Texarkana,Texas. It happened shortly after 3PM near the intersection of Colorado and Potomac. Pat Mortensen says she was inside her home when she heard a loud crash. "I don`t know what happened... All I saw was that wall and that car coming through the wall. Then I went and looked around in the bedroom and I saw that dead man laying there." said Mortensen. The man was 22-year old Christopher White. He crashed his vehicle into Mortensen`s home shortly after being shot by his friend`s ex-husband. "The victim was actually a friend of the ex-wife who knew he was not supposed to be there." said Sgt. Shawn Fitzgerald, Public Information Officer for the Texarkana Police Department. Investigators say White and 2 of his friends were riding in his car when they saw 31-year-old Reggie Smith outside the home where his ex-wife was staying. "He had no reason to be there. He doesn`t live there... So they took it upon themselves to confront him," said Fitzgerald. That`s when things turned violent. Investigators say Reggie Smith allegedly pistol whipped one of the men and told them to get out of the car. "The driver refused and tried to dive off, at which time the suspect shot him several times. He lost control and crashed into the house," said Fitzgerald. Investigators believe the attack is stemming from a domestic dispute the former couple had earlier in the day. "We think he may have been lying in wait for her... At this point we`re not going to rule out that he may have ambushed her." said Fitzgerald. Reggie Smith is in police custody. He`s facing murder charges.
